The Operations Simulator version 3 configuration repository contains the following standard cadence configurations.

Configuration Branch Name Description
Baseline Cadence master
  • Science Council approved Deep Drilling fields
  • Wide-Fast-Deep (WFD) design specification for areal coverage (18,000 deg)
  • WFD "boosted visits" = 75, 105, 240, 240, 210, 210 for u, g, r, i, z, y filters where g, r, i and z visits are collected in pairs separated by about 30 minutes
  • Revised scheduled downtime and unscheduled downtime
  • minAlt = 20 deg
  • MinDistance2Moon = 30 deg
Note: SRD design visits = 56, 80, 184, 184, 160, 160 for u, g, r, i, z, y filters.
Tier 1, Run 1 tier1/run01 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except there is only the Universal (WFD) proposal which collects visits in pairs.
Tier 1, Run 2 tier1/run02 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except there is only the Universal (WFD) proposal. However, this version does not require pairs of visits.
Tier 1, Run 3 tier1/run03 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except Universal (WFD) proposal does not require pairs of visits.
Tier 1, Run 4, 3 visits tier1/run04_3visits Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except Universal (WFD) requests three visits per field instead of two. The window function between both 1-2 visits and 2-3 visits is the same as baseline.
Tier 1, Run 4, 4 visits tier1/run04_4visits Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except Universal (WFD) requests four visits per field instead of two. The window function between 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 visits is the same as baseline.
Tier 1, Run 5 tier1/run05 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except u-band exposure time is 60 sec instead of 30 sec. u-band number of visits remains the same as baseline.
Tier 1, Run 6 tier1/run06 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except u-band exposure time is 60 sec instead of 30 sec. u-band number of visits is halved from baseline.
Tier 1, Run 7 tier1/run07 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except exposure time in all bands is 20 sec instead of 30 sec. Deep drilling number of visits is based on 30 sec exposure time. Galactic plane and South celestial pole number of visits increased by 50% from baseline.
Tier 1, Run 8 tier1/run08 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except exposure time in all bands is 60 sec instead of 30 sec.
Tier 1, Run 9 tier1/run09 This configuration is a Pan-STARRS like cadence. It contains the Universal (WFD) proposal that requires pairs of visits and no other proposals. The area coverage is increased to include Dec <+15 deg (~27,400 deg^2) and the default airmass limit of 1.5 is kept. It also uses the SRD number of visits for each band.
Tier 1, Run 10 tier1/run10 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except that the airmass limit is relaxed to 2.0 instead of 1.5 for the Universal and Deep drilling proposals.
Tier 1, Run 11 tier1/run11 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except there is only the Universal (WFD) proposal with a relaxed airmass limit of 2.0 instead of 1.5.
Tier 1, Run 12 tier1/run12 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except there is only the Universal (WFD) proposal with a more stringent airmass limit of 1.3 instead of 1.5.
NEO, Run 1 neo/run01 Configuration is the same as baseline cadence except the survey runs for 15 years and the Universal (WFD) and North Ecliptic Spur proposals have 1.5 times and 3.4 times respectively the number of visits in all bands.
NEO, Run 2 neo/run02 Configuration is the same as NEO Run1 except twice the number of visits in the North Ecliptic Spur proposal.
NEO, Run 3 neo/run03 Configuration is the same as NEO Run 2 except there is no North Ecliptic Spur proposal. It runs an Ecliptic Band proposal which covers ~+/- 12 degrees around the ecliptic and has double visits.
NEO, Run 4 neo/run04 Configuration is the same as NEO Run 2. In addition, it runs an Ecliptic Band propsal that covers ~+/- 12 degrees around the ecliptic minus overlapping North Ecliptic Spur fields and requires double visits.
NEO, Run 5 neo/run05 Configuration is the same as NEO Run 3 except the Ecliptic Band proposal now covers ~+/- 15 degrees around the ecliptic.
NEO, Run 6 neo/run06 Configuration is the same as NEO Run 4 except Ecliptic Band proposal now covers ~+/- 15 degrees around the ecliptic and does not include the overlapping North Ecliptic Spur proposal fields.
NEO, Run 7 neo/run07 Configuration is the same as NEO Run 6 except Ecliptic Band proposal only observes in r and i bands and the full ~+/- 15 degrees around the ecliptic is used.
